Description

This is the first of a series of the biennial International Conferences on Gender Equality (ICGE-1), being organized by Gender Park that will help to share good practices and find answers to address continuing concerns on gender equality despite all the evident progress in human development, particularly in states such as ours. There is a feeling that new modalities and a “new language in gender” are essential, particularly in Kerala to accelerate achievement of gender equality. The Gender Park Conference hopes to initiate this dialogue, and aims to be the “game changer” in the area of gender. The ICGE Statement 2015, expected to result from the conference, will detail an action plan based on the discussions and main findings at the conference sessions that will help advance gender equality in the identified thematic areas. It will also identify a set of priority areas for further focus and action.
